Progress Report: Day 29. Hang in there!

This is the exciting part of reading your blogs. SO many people are posting their winner status right now. It’s been so great to read them. I hope most of you keep us informed of your work.

I’ve been slugging out these final few scenes. I think all that’s left is an arena fight between two sisters. I totally phoned it in for one chapeter. I wrote a vague outline of what I want to happen and told myself to research protests like Kent State or Standing Rock. Mine will be much shorter lasting, but the mages are shutting the city down and I don’t really know how that works in real life.

I’m going to take some time off to read and write reviews. I’ve gotten behind in my reading and I can tell when I try to write. Descriptions and dialogue have greatly suffered from my not reading enough. I don’t know exactly what I’ll be reading yet. But I’ll get cracking.

I’m going to post updates when I do the big revision. I found a website that lets you post similar stats as NaNo. It’s called Pacemaker Planner and I can’t wait to learn how to use it. This will be my first revision that’s not a major rewrite, so I’m happy. I hope after this run, I’ll be beta reader ready.

I’ve had a great time writing this month and an even better time reading everyone else’s journey. To everyone not finished yet, good luck on the final day!

  1. Congratulations on your win šŸ™‚

Thank you for mentioning Pacemaker Planner. I had never heard of it before, and as a NaNoWriMo winner who has not finished her novel yet, it will be useful to track the 50000 words that I aim to write in December too!
