Progress Report: Day 24. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, all! I hope you had time to get words in. I had more time than I thought. I didn’t factor in that my in-laws were not having their celebration until Saturday. So after spending time with my parents for lunch, I had a good evening for writing.

It can be a real pain to get those words in during the holidays, though. Christmas week will probably be a wash for word count. Yick.

I could have written more, but I was at a very good stopping point. The mood will be totally different in the next section, so I thought I’d quit for the night.

  1. I’m a firm believer in stopping at the natural breaks. It has been my experience that when I force myself, even to meet a word count, it often ends up being wasted work. Best to set it aside and come back to it later when the mood is right and not waste your time. Some say that’s craft building, but I don’t know if I buy that yet. This NaNoWriMo has been testing my theory. We’ll see when I get back at my main novel series starting in a few weeks.

I am very happy for you, and am curious as to what you have written, as I have not had a chance to read the day to day you’ve been doing here. Gimme time. 🙂

    1. I’ll write about what I’ve written this week. It’s a magitech fantasy about professional arena fighters who use magic and kickboxing. I had a lousy day and I’m too worn out to talk much about it. Talk to you soon!
